Now for the Interior (A continuation of this post/project)

all the pages of studies and bonus! drawings of Hanuman and Ganesh.

So this is that project I mentioned a few weeks ago.

Over about 4 weeks I scraped together the time to make a little gift for someone. This started out as one of those completely blank books you can buy at craft stores, I made all the drawings, icons, and text (hand lettering on the front, custom font within and for the annotations).

The first two weeks were just filling it with studies, Ofc they didn’t take that long, maybe 3-4 sittings worth (26 pages), but I was stealing time from homework/other responsibilities to make this. The latter two weeks were me figuring out the book’s graphic design and assembly (oh my god I threw out so many patterns, MAKING APPEALING GEOMETRIC PATTERNS WOW HARD) and finally I’ll have to wait another week before I can give it to him.

I havent found any trees with good knotholes to stash this Boo Radley style—and I’ve been looking. It’s Kind Of Important that I not be there in person to give this because every time I try to talk to this guy my brain gets all stupid

so I made little “post-its” with annotations using the same lotus shape from the endpapers (they’re the blue things on the interior pages).

Gonna post scans of the interior then all the graphic design stuff soon.

For one assignment, my illustration class got a chance to take part in Ten Paces and Draw, the theme was #hashtags. I got to swap sketches with Rachel Dougherty, and my hashtag was #wingman_bro!
You can see the rest of the swaps of my classmates and the Ten Paces crew here!

Well I can't really make much of a judgement because a lot of your recent work is observational studies. You have a really great sense of form happening, it looks great. Maybe focus on having a body of work, like a portfolio, that illustrates what you can do. I could only find a couple polished pieces just with a cursory look through your tumblr, and the direction there seems a lot different from what it was 2-3 years ago, of which I'm more familiar with.

D’OH—You’re right, I forgot this is studies blog 2k-infinity. I’ll post some homeworks. Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to browse through my blog, sorry there wasn’t much else here to chew on.

networkandsharingcenter:

i’ve liked Venetian Snares for a long time, and Doll Doll Doll has long been one of the most amazing albums i’ve ever heard

but this track alone probably tops it, this is one of the greatest things Aaron has ever done

the whole ep is really, really good, and this is the biggest highlight of it

Similar feels, but for me it was “Songs About My Cats” (“Fluff Master” to this day remains one of my favorite musical compositions. period.)

But yeah, I love the steady build to incoherent aggression in this track, definitely the highlight of the EP.

Do elephants even like bananas?
part of another thing I’m working on on top of schoolwork.

Why are you a d20? :V

Because that’s just how i roll

oops I did it again.
went back and re-inked the foliage, now it’s smoother, reads better, and changed the branches so they don’t make the tile so obvious.

These are really old, done over winter break. I sat down and put on Pixelovely’s timed reference (30 secs-1 minute) and put myself through a GESTURE GAUNTLET.

ok that’s the last of them.
